Breastfeeding is a cinch now. I gave up early on with Ollie, but was much more patient this time around. I feel like a new woman having accomplished this. My advice to any new mom hoping to breastfeed is to stick with it. The first few weeks are ROUGH, but it does get better. I've learned to feed her in the car like a pro...while parked, of course.
We're learning that we do not live in a prison and we can actually get out of the house without any trouble. We've had several successful outings and it doesn't stress me out like it did a month ago. It feels good to get showered and dressed and out the door!!! I even went to my dear friend, Ashley's, bachelorette party!!! Success!
Ollie, V and I packed up the car last weekend and went on a road trip to West KY. The drive down was easy peazy. The visit went well. We spent Friday through Sunday visiting with friends and family and then the drive back was great. Ollie fell asleep with a chicken nugget hanging from his mouth, but slept for a couple of hours right along side V.
Next week V and I both have doctor appointments and I'm confident we'll get 5 out of 5 stars!
The bad news is I have one week left of maternity leave. I'm kind of happy to go back just to get a routine in order, but I am afraid my newest addition will be walking when I get off at five. The good news is my boss told me to ease back into things and go slowly, especially with travel. I'm happy about that.
And one thing to prove life isn't all about baby at this point...I made cupcakes. Here's a link to a picture and recipe. These are good, but not awesome. The cake part is a little doughy because you add liquid to the cooked cake, but I'd make them again because they're pretty.

Here are a few pictures of V and Ollie as if you haven't seen them on facebook.
Ollie helped with V's first bath...
Until next time...
